With the support of our dedicated team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save over 3,500 dogs from dire situations. In South Korea, where the adoption rate is less than 20%, many dogs face uncertain futures. That’s why we transport them to the U.S., where they have the chance to find loving, forever homes.
We are also proud to be a New Hope Partner with NYC Animal Care Centers (NYCACC), working to alleviate shelter congestion and expand our community’s impact. By collaborating with local shelters, we help ensure more dogs receive the second chance they deserve.
Most of our adoptable dogs are located on the East Coast, with some available on the West Coast. While we primarily adopt within NYC, we do consider adoptions outside the area on a case-by-case basis.
As a foster-based rescue, our dogs stay in loving homes before adoption, giving them the care, stability, and socialization they need to thrive.
🐾 Thinking about adopting? We highly recommend reviewing our Adoption Procedures and FAQs before applying to ensure a smooth and successful adoption process. Meet our dogs at our upcoming events.

About:
Meet Tonggles – All Legs, Big Heart
Tonggles is all legs and sleek elegance—and at 1 year and 8 months old, this beautiful Jindo mix has already overcome more than most pups. Weighing 25 lbs, she carries a quiet resilience and a gentle, loving spirit.
She and her sibling, Odong, were abandoned on the streets of South Korea and ended up in a high-kill shelter in Gangneung. Her future was uncertain—but her spark remained. After being rescued, Tonggles spent time at our Rehabilitation Center in Bundang, where she began to heal and grow before arriving in NYC to continue her journey in a devoted foster home.
Now, this sweet girl is thriving. Her tail is in a near-constant wag, and she brings joy to everyday city moments—delighting in walks, greeting new faces, and sniffing out every tree trunk like it’s her first time. As her confidence builds, so does her affection, revealing a truly special pup with so much love to give.
Tonggles is ready to find her forever home. She’s ready to bring light, love, and loyalty to a family who’ll treasure her for the resilient, radiant pup she is.

About:
Meet Jjong!
This 1 year old, 42-lb Jindo mix was rescued from Siheung City Center and is a sweet, gentle soul learning to navigate the world.
Inside Jjong is calm, shy, and a bit timid. She takes her time exploring, then settles either in her crate or just outside the bedroom door. She always eats and drinks while lying down, taking treats with the softest touch. She even picks treats from her snuffle mat one by one before returning to her spot to enjoy them.
Outside Jjong walks nicely but is still a little scared of new surroundings. She watches the train go by, seeming a bit unsure, but her curiosity shines through. With patience and love, she’s sure to build confidence with each day in the city.
Plus, her adorable scruffy face and long fur give her the cutest little beard!
Could you be the one to show Jjong the world at her own pace?
I qualify for the Jindo Journey Training Stipend! Starting March 1st, adopters of Jindo mixes (25+ lbs) will receive a $300 training stipend for two professional sessions, helping them adjust and thrive in their new home. Learn more here.

Size: Large

Secondary Breed:
Status: adoptable
About:
Meet Pujim
Meet Pujim, a vibrant 9-month-old Jindo mix, weighing in at 30lbs, who’s ready to leap into her forever home! 🐾
Like her siblings Min-Kyu, Lion, Nana, and Argon (all happily adopted through KK9R), and her still-available brothers Hotteok and Jae-Yong, Pujim’s story began with hardship. Rescued with her mom, another mother dog, and their massive litter of 13 puppies from a devastating situation where they were confined to a 1-meter pole, Pujim’s journey to joy is a testament to resilience, thanks to the incredible work of @youumbba.
To ensure Pujim and her future family thrive, she’s part of our Jindo Journey program! This means she qualifies for a $300 stipend towards two professional training sessions, thanks to a generous private grant, making adoption even more accessible. We believe in setting dogs and adopters up for success, and this program reflects our commitment to a smooth transition and lasting happiness.💚
Since her arrival in NYC, Pujim has blossomed. She adores her crate, viewing it as her personal sanctuary. She’s a bundle of playful energy, but also loves to chill in her donut bed, close to her foster family. She’s a fan of backyard breaks and is wonderfully friendly with people.🐾
Come meet this adorable girl and witness her playful spirit firsthand!

About:
Miso is a handsome and intelligent 25-lb male. 6 yr old Jindo is mixed with a charming personality. Outdoors, he is active and full of energy; indoors, he enjoys lounging like a cat. Miso would be the perfect companion for a low-traffic household or a single owner without children or other pets. Bailey
Male | Corgi | Young Available

Details:
Animal ID: 2317897
Species: Dog
Age: Young
Gender: Male
Size: Medium
Primary Breed: Corgi
Secondary Breed: Chihuahua
Status: adoptable
About:
Bailey is a 3 year old mix pup ringing in at 20lbs of muscle! This active boy is no stranger to NYC - his journey to finding his perfect family has been full of ups and downs but he hasn’t let that damper his mood.
Originally an owner surrender at Queens ACC, Bailey was pulled from the at risk list and has adjusted incredibly well with his foster family.
Though he currently has dog and cat roommates, he’d do best in an only pet home without tiny humans. Bailey wants to be your best friend and aims to please. He’s down for a run through the park, a stroll around the neighborhood, or a cuddle in your lap. He has a super fun play drive and absolutely adores food so training with Bailey is easy breezy.
Though he’s all about fun, Bailey is still learning the ropes with touch in certain areas. An ideal adopter will be dedicated to learning alongside him and giving him proper time to decompress in a new home.
As a local rescue, Bailey's training is fully sponsored. His adoption fee is $300.
